NPB Kids Tri 2012
Our favorite local race was really great again this year!! Lily raced as a Senior this year and came in 3rd out of 18! Marshall was a Super Junior and came in 11th out of 25! We are so proud of them both!! We also want to give a shout out to our good friends Coral Brockman and Dylan Hansel (both Jaguars) who took home 1st place trophies...way to go guys!

Lily's 1st track meet
We had so much fun going to Lily's first middle school track meet! Sadly she has been out for the last six months with two separate injuries and only started running a couple weeks ago. She didn't do as well as she would have liked, but she tried hard and had a great attitude! She ran the mile in 7:14 and also ran in the mile relay (not sure of that time). We are super proud of our girl and look forward to seeing her get stronger each week!!

2011 Miami Man International Triathlon
My first international distance triathlon!! The venue was great, it was really safe and I had a lot of friends racing; both in the international and the 1/2 iron so it was super fun! My time was 2:55:06. Splits: swim 22:38, T1 2:30, bike 1:12:14, T2 2:25, run 1:15:19. Overall 377/588, Gender 136/269, Category 17/32! Big thank you to OYM's Matt and Julie for their support, encouragement and awesome Bianchi ride! Congrats to my fellow "Miami Men" Charlie, Bryan, Scott, Jeff and John...you rock! And most of all to Jay the "super spectator cheerleader hubby of awesomeness" I am thankful for you!!

Loggerhead Triathlon 2011
My favorite race, it was awesome as always! Jay's time was 1:25:20 and mine was 1:33:20. I took over 3 minutes off of last years time, so I was happy! Jay hasn't done this race since 2008 and did not really train so he was pretty happy with his time as well... especially since it was his birthday! Happy Birthday honey! Congrats to Matt and Julie Goforth, Charlie and Lori Lockerson, Brent and Erica Whitfield, Zach Wolz, Bryan Merritt, Scott Hansel, Doreen Miller, and the relay team C3 Skirts Clare, Chris and Cary! (Lily was our photographer...this pic is of Jay's butt heehee!)

Meek and Mighty 2011, St Petersburg
Meek and Mighty was so fun! We love traveling with the Jaguars and all of our best pals were there. Lily came in 4th out of 34 in her category and Marshall was 6th out of 32 in his category... such a great race for both kids! All of the Jaguars did really well, most of the kids placing in the top 5! They also got to meet Andy Potts, a professional triathlete, have their pictures taken and get autographs. We enjoyed staying an extra night to cheer for all of our friends racing in the St Anthony's Triathlon on Sunday.

FAU Wellness Triathlon 2011
This was my first time at this race and it was great! I think it was probably my best race to date!! Overall in my category I was 16 out of 29; 8th in the swim, 11th on the bike and 21st on the run! Need to work on not being SOO wiped out in the run...but there is time before Loggerhead! I had a great cheering section and Julie, Marc and Scott also raced. A super day!

Dyer Challenge 4, to benefit Jack the Bike Man
Marshall raced in a ten minute bike race to benefit Jack the Bike Man. Jack the Bike Man is a local man who collects old bikes, fixes them and gives them away to kids or people in the community who need a bike to get to and from work. Marshall raced in a heat of 6 and came in 2nd place. He also got a really great "swag bag" and was very excited about that! Thanks to Coach Shelley for sponsoring the kids race!

Shamrock 5K
BEAUTIFUL weather for the Shamrock 5k this morning! We had a great representation for the Jaguars: 3 girls ran, in 3 different age groups and ALL 3 won 1st place! All of the girls had a PR that morning, which was pretty cool! We also had a few parents and Coach Shelley running as well. Lily's time was 25:53. I also ran and had my PR at 32:58. Congrats to Emma, Coral and Lily. A super fun morning!

Coconut Cup #6, Oleta
Marshall got out his mountain bike again for the Coconut Cup #6 race at Oleta River State Park Park in North Miami. He placed 3rd for his age group and had a great time! Jay was also planning on racing...BUT... while he was getting his bike ready a tent blew into his car! Someone had forgotten to stake down their tent and the wind picked it up, dumping it in on top of his brand new car! (it had less than 200 miles on it) Fortunately it did not injure anyone and we were able to take it down before it took off again! Yeesh...we were glad to get home this afternoon!

6 Hours of El Lagarto
We headed to Lakeland for the 6 hours of El Lagarto mountain bike race. Jay and Marshall both raced along with some friends from OYM, Matt, Julie, Kip and Dave. Marshall raced up an age group in the 10-14 category because he thought the race for his age was too easy...hehe! The kids race was a little goofy, the course was not clearly marked so all of the kids went in different directions. They didn't end up giving places since it was a little crazy, but they all had a fun time! Jay completed 7 laps and rode for 5 hours and 11 minutes (he was the fastest in the 7 lap group). He finished 23 out of 50 overall, this was his 2nd mountain bike race ever! I manned the tent and passed out bottles and nutrition which was fun too! Oh yeah, and all of the races started with a potato sack race...pretty funny!

Race For the Cure 2011
Aye...so hard this year! Lily, Lisa, April and I ran in memory of Kelly Gourley, my good friend who passed away in November. In previous years Lisa and I would do the run and then do the walk with Kelly, celebrating the fact that she had been cancer free for several years. This year was our first time at the event without her and it was really difficult. She was an amazing person and I was honored to run in her memory, we are rejoicing that she is completely healed now in Heaven!
