1k run and bike time trial

Busy weekend! Saturday Lily ran the NPB Ghost run 1k with her running club from school. She came in 4th for the girls. On Sunday she did a bike time trial (out in the middle of the sugar cane fields!) It was a 15k bike and she finished in 37 min. Not her best time, but big kuddos for going out there! Picture is from the bike time trial.

Publix Duathlon

Jay and Lily competed in the Publix Family Fitness Duathlon this morning and WON!! They came in first place in the relay category and 43rd out of 121 overall!! Way to go Killer Millers relay team! They got to stand on the podium to receive their awards and Lily was interviewed for the Stuart News which she thought was pretty cool.

Sunday morning training run

I had a great 9 mile training run with Erica today! She is an awesome running partner, thankful for her friendship and encouragement to keep going (and her ability to get my rear out of bed every Sunday morning at 5am)! Looking forward to the PB 1/2 marathon!

Publix Family Fitness 1 mile race

The kids ran a 1 mile race at the Publix Family Fitness event in Tradition. Lily came in 3rd overall with a time of 7:23 and Marshall ran an 8:40, not sure of his placing but he definitely creamed the other 6-7 year olds and a lot of "big kids" too! We didn't know about the event until today and decided to head up there at the last minute. We ended up running into 2 other kids from the Jaguars club and they came in 4 and 5 overall! A great representation for the club and fun too! Also a last minute registration, Lily and Jay are doing the Publix duathlon as a relay tomorrow morning. Gook luck "Killer Miller" relay team!

2010 Iron Kids Nationals

We had so much fun at Iron Kids Nationals St Petersburg! There were 8 Jaguar club members participating and they all got to meet kids from other tri clubs around the country. It was very cool! Lily came in 26 out 0f 34 in her category, and had quite an eventful bike portion of the race. Her bike chain was off when she tried to start the bike leg of the race. We realized later from watching the video that when she came into transition after her swim, the bike was racked differently and the chain was off. We are guessing it got knocked off the rack by another person and when it fell the chain came off, they must have picked it up and put it back on the rack not realizing it was broken. Thankfully Jay was nearby to help get the chain back on, but it cost a bit of time! She didn't panic and we are so proud of her! Congrats to all Jaguars!!
